The maritime developments in the Port of Sohar have required new buoys to mark the channel and a high intensity narrow beam sector light to guide ships accurately down the centre of the approach channel from the new Fairway buoy 4 nautical miles to the north of the port entrance. More Aids to Navigation are planned to be installed during 2008.
